Irish Pro14 club Connacht announced the signing of Reece in May of 2018. Reece was scheduled to join the team following the completion of his Waikato commitments for 2018. The 2018 Mitre 10 Cup, however in October of 2018, it was revealed that Connacht was unable to sign the contract due to the domestic violence case brought against Reece and his wife, in which he confessed to guilt and was released without conviction.
In December of 2018, Reece was selected to the Crusaders squad to cover and later was included in the main squad following his impressive performances during the preseason. However, following an injury that would end the career of Israel Dagg, Reece was admitted to the squad in its entirety. In March of 2019 Reece made his debut as a right winger against the Chiefs as a replacement for Manasa Mataele, who suffered an injury earlier in the week and was declared out for the rest of the season. He scored an intercept and also won the Man of the Match. He was named a starter in the right-wing during the rest of the season, scoring 15 tries. He also topped the charts of try scoring in 2019. Reece was was raised in Fiji and was a student at Queen Victoria School. He was a Queen Victoria School representative in track and field during the Coke Games. He was a high-jumper as well as a 100m sprinter. He was 5th overall in High Jump in his category in his final year of school, with a height of 1.70m. He also came 3rd on his team of 4x100m relay. Reece relocated to New Zealand in 2014 and went to Hamilton Boys’ High School, where He played in the first XV of rugby. After graduating from high school, his local Waikato club Melville was able to sign him for a development contract. He was crowned with the club’s top point producer as they claimed the Breweries Shield for the first time in over 35 years.
A stellar performance as a centre and an outside back for Melville was enough to see him selected to the Waikato team to play in the Mitre 10 Cup. He made his debut in the Ranfurly Shield defence against Thames Valley on June 6, 2016 and was able to play twelve Ranfurly Shield and Mitre 10 Cup appearances over the course of the course of the season, scoring seven attempts during the process.
In July 2019, Reece was named in the 39-member All Blacks team to prepare for the upcoming Rugby Championship and the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He made his international debut on the right wing in the first 2019 Rugby Championship game against Argentina.
