He drove a Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo in 1983, mainly for the Finnish Junior Rally Team. He signed a deal with Austin Rover Works to drive an MG Metro 6R in the British Rally Open. He heard about Sergio Cresto’s tragic accident at Tour de Corse while competing in the Wales Rally in May.
In 2006, he opened an exhibition to tribute to his brother Henri at the Neste Oil Rally Finland.
