Riki John Flutey, born 10 February 1980, is a former rugby union player who won 14 caps for England and one cap for the British and Irish Lions. He was born in Wairarapa (New Zealand) and represented New Zealand in all age groups. After qualifying for England through residency, he played rugby union.

Flutey made his debut against the Blues for the Hurricanes in round one of the 2002 Super12.

After making only 5 appearances in the 2005 Super 12 season, Flutey moved to England to play for London Irish.

A centre or fly-half, he played for Hawke’s Bay, Wellington and the Hurricanes in New Zealand before moving to England in 2005. He then played for London Irish and London Wasps in England, Brive in France and Ricoh Black Rams in Japan.

Flutey was arrested in Rosario, Argentina on 3 December 2001 for grievous bodily injury. Gabriel Capotosti, an Argentinian teenager, suffered a fractured nose and right eye socket after Flutey’s unprovoked attack outside a mini-mart. Flutey was placed in a police cell for four nights, and then was placed under house arrest at the hotel of the team. The Wellington union secured his bail of $US35,000 ($NZ84,000.800) before he returned to New Zealand on the 10th December 2001. Gabriel Capotosti’s relatives filed a civil lawsuit against Flutey. Flutey was released from all charges in December 2008.
