Dave van den Bergh is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on May 7, 1976 in Amsterdam, Kingdom of the Netherlands. Dave van den Bergh (born on May 7 1977) has been a Dutch soccer player and coach.
On June 6, 2006 Van den Bergh (who is married to an American) was signed by the Kansas City Wizards, for who Van den Bergh scored three goals in thirteen games . Before the start of 2007’s MLS season the club traded him to the New York Red Bulls in exchange for a draft selection in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft. In 2007, Van den Bergh obtained the U.S. Green Card which meant that the player was now as a player from the United States, not an international senior player. He quickly became the left winger of the team’s first choice as well as advancing to the left-back position. The first season ended playing in 29 league matches which included 26 games. He scored two goals and was the top scorer for the club with eight assists. In 2008, Van den Bergh continued his impressive play for New York appearing in 26 league games, scoring 7 goals and five assists. Van den Bergh scored the biggest goal in the history of the club during the Western Conference Final leading New York to a 1-0 win against Real Salt Lake and a spot for the 2008 MLS Cup.
The 2010 MLS season showed Van den Bergh to be a man without a team. In spite of what many would argue was a career campaign in 2009 for the crafty veteran left winger, FC Dallas waived Van den Bergh prior to the start of the 2010 season after he reportedly questioned coach Schellas Hyndman’s coaching style. However FC Dallas maintained his rights in MLS and apparently the club made it very difficult for Van den Bergh to move to a new team. “I have not talked with anyone (from the Red Bulls) or an MLS team. I’m unemployed. I’m open to playing for certain teams, not any team”.
Van den Bergh has been awarded a cap by the Netherlands twice two times, both in 2004, when Van den Bergh was playing for Utrecht. The Dutch made his debut on the international stage on the 18th of October the same year, with a 2-2 draw against Sweden. He also played for his nation at the 1995 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
