An injury-related crisis in the 2012-13 season in Bath’s backs was the reason for Devoto moved to the 1st XV team and made his debut in the team as a substitute during the Bath’s Premiership game in the match against London Wasps on 8 September 2012.
Devoto who was previously a member of the England U19 Development team, was selected for the England U20 squad during 2013, the Six Nations Under 20s Championship. The player made his debut on the bench, as his team defeated France 40-10. After impressing during that game the player was picked at fullback for the final two games of the tournament, when his England team beat Italy as well as Wales to keep the Six Nations trophy. Devoto was later added to England’s team to play in the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship, scoring a touchdown in England’s record-breaking victory of 109-0 against the United States. Devoto was substituted in the final game as England defeated Wales and took home the World Championship title.
In June 2014, Devoto was included in an England XV for their match against the Barbarians. Devoto came on as a replacement for his Bath teammate Jonathan Joseph and played for the last 21 minutes in England’s 39–29 defeat. On 21 January 2015, Devoto was included in the England Saxons squad for the first time for a match against their Irish counterparts.
