Lee Jarvis is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on September 30, 1976 in Pontypridd, United Kingdom. Lee Jarvis (born 30 September 1976 in Pontypridd, Wales) is an ex-international Welsh players of the union who was noted as the top point scorer using the boot. His playing career spans throughout Wales and England including the top- level rugby in Wales as well as in the Celtic League, winning a many trophies throughout both countries. He has played for Wales from school levels to international glory and was also picked as a member of the Barbarians. While being touted by some as being”the “next best thing” during his first few years of professional career, and being a superb point kicker, Lee did not win more than a single medal for Wales at international level. After stepping down from rugby union, as an athlete Lee is now a coach. He is the current director of coaching at Beddau RFC.
Following nine seasons in Wales Lee made the choice to cross from the Bristol Channel to Cornwall where he joined the Cornish Pirates, an ambitious club that played within the English second division during the 2004-05 season. The reason he made this decision was because of the pressure he experienced playing Welsh rugby where for many years the team was touted to be”the “next best thing” but could not get the international games he’d been expected to receive when beginning his professional career. At Pirates He became a regular for the first team and helped the club achieve the highly coveted 4th and 3rd spots in the league during the two seasons he spent at the club.
After several years at Cardiff Blues, in 2013 Lee joined struggling Merthyr (then in Division 1 East) alongside Gary Horrigan as head coach. The Ironmen managed to survive relegation, beating Ystrad Rhondda on the last day of the season to stay up. Under the backing of multi millionaire Sir Stan Thomas, Merthyr then won the Division 1 East title to gain promotion to the Welsh Championship as well as claiming the SWALEC Plate.
After two years at Pontypridd in which he was an one of the top scorers in the league, Lee relocated to Neath to take part in the first Celtic league, a tournament that involved Welsh, Scottish and Irish clubs. The club was able to get reach the quarterfinals, which they lost against Irish provincial Ulster. In addition to appearances in the national Welsh league and cup, Jarvis amassed over 400 points, including 100 in the Celtic League. In 2003, another shift from Welsh rugby would result in the creation of controversial regions which would be part of the Celtic League replacing the original Welsh clubs. From the teams established, Lee moved back east to join the Newport Gwent Dragons. He only played for one season with the Dragons and was constrained by the high-profile South African international Percy Montgomery and Craig Warlow (although as always Lee had a respectable point record in the games played).

An outside-half, Lee began his career with the club he played for in his hometown Pontypridd in 1995 when the club had him as a player in the academy for youth. Even though he made some appearances in the Heineken Cup, Lee found opportunities to play limited at Pontypridd since Welsh legendary Neil Jenkins was already firmly established as the primary player in the role at the club. As a result, the club moved him to their nearby rivals Cardiff at the beginning of 1997-96 season. Lee was a three-year player in Cardiff where it was he who scored an astounding 1,000 points during the time he was there. He also helped the club win the SWALEC Cup in his debut season. Lee also recorded the highest score of his career in the second season, scoring nearly 500 points in every competition. Lee also earned an award (the only one in the entire career) for Wales with just two minutes in the game against Romania in 1997 but scoring an assist in the short amount of time he was playing. Despite his impressive scoring record at Cardiff In 1999, Lee returned to his former team, Pontypridd, as part of a record PS200,000 fee which the capital club agreed to pay to his old teammate Neil Jenkins.
As a player-coach, Lee nevertheless proved that he could have a lot for the club. taking a seat on the bench to assist Cardiff beat Glamorgan Wanderers, scoring three penalties and a drop goal during the last 30 minutes of an Principality Premiership game in November. He scored 294 points in the entire season, which saw Cardiff won their first Principality Premiership title – their first since 2000. Lee was also selected as a player for the Cardiff Blues while at Cardiff and would also play a growing role as a backs coach in Cardiff’s Blues Academy. In September of 2010, Lee launched Lee Jarvis Kicking Clinics in an effort to impart his knowledge as a strategic and position kicker to the next generation of players in the sport.
Two years at Pirates were followed by another two seasons at nearby Mounts Bay. In two years at the Penzance-based club, Lee helped the club achieve two consecutive promotions from tier 5 up to tier 3 in what was a very exciting period for the short-lived club. As well as claiming two league titles, Mounts Bay also won the EDF Intermediate Cup and Cornish Super Cup in this period and on a personal note Lee was also top points scorer in National Division 3 South during his second year at the club. Despite enjoying life in Cornwall Lee received an offer from former club Cardiff to become player coach and he returned to Wales for the start of the 2008-09 season.
