He is an Irish union rugby player. He plays primarily as prop and is able to play both as a tighthead and a loosehead. Bealham plays for Ireland at the international level and has been able to qualify to play for them through his maternal grandmother of Enniskillen which is located in Northern Ireland. Bealham currently plays club rugby with the Irish Provincial squad Connacht Rugby in the Pro14 league. Through his maternal grandmother, Bealham is related to Northern Irish heavyweight boxer Gordon Ferris.
In the 2014-15 campaign, Bealham was switched from loosehead to playing the tight head position by Connacht forwards’ head coach Dan McFarland. Despite this change however, he played regularly for the team just as he had done before the end in the season before. Bealham began his European debut on the 6th of December 2014, making an appearance as a substitute for the home game against Bayonne during the Challenge Cup pool stages. He made his debut on the opposite side of the pitch following week. Bealham made his league debut start on the 26th of December against Ulster. Through the season, he played in fifteen games during the 2014-15 Pro12 as well as 5 appearances at the Challenge Cup. Also, he was a part of Connacht’s final game of year, which was a play-off match against Gloucester where they were defeated 40-32 following extra time. Through their season Bealham agreed to sign a 2-year contract that will keep him on the team until summer 2017.
Bealham was part of the Emerging Ireland squad for the 2015 Tbilisi Cup. He played in two of the team’s fixtures, replacing Stephen Archer in the games against Emerging Italy and Georgia, scoring a try in the latter.
In January 2016, Bealham was called up to Ireland’s squad for the Six Nations to replace the injured Marty Moore. After Cian Healy injured his hamstring, Bealham was promoted to the bench for the game against Italy. On 12 March 2016, 65 minutes into the game, he replaced Jack McGrath for his debut. Bealham was named in the Irish squad for the team’s 2016 tour to South Africa, where he was named on the bench for all three tests, coming on as a 59th minute replacement for Tadhg Furlong in the second.
Bealham relocated to Ireland in the year 2010 and was a player in the grandmother’s province of Ulster playing for the amateur team, Belfast Harlequins. After 2011, the Junior World Cup, he was offered a spot in the Academy of Connacht which is another province. The move to Connacht also meant that he had to change clubs that included Bealham becoming a member of Galway Corinthians. Bealham was elevated from the sub-academy level to the full academy prior to the 2012-13 season.

When he was aware of his eligibility to play in Ireland, Bealham became involved in the youth team of Ireland by participating in the Irish Exiles program. He had previously played for in the Australia Schools ‘ ‘A’ team with New Zealand in 2009, Bealham made his debut for Ireland under-20s in the 2011 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. Italy at the Six Nations Under 20s Championship. In the following the same year Bealham played in the Irish team at the IRB Junior World Championship. Bealham made four appearances in the team with three of them coming as a substitute.
Bealham was chosen to join Australia’s Australian school team during the year 2009. He played for the team’s ‘A’ team in the match against Tonga as well as New Zealand.
While in the academy Bealham played for the province’s second tier side, the Connacht Eagles. Bealham made his full debut for Connacht in the 2013–14 Pro12 on 23 February 2014. He came on from the bench away to Italian side Zebre, replacing Denis Buckley at loosehead on the 74 minute mark. Bealham went on to make a further five replacement appearances in the Pro12 that season. In April 2014, it was announced that Bealham had signed a professional contract with the province to last until summer 2015, making him a full member of Connacht’s senior squad.
