Letowski was a player with the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Carolina Hurricanes. Letowski served as the coach for the Ontario Hockey League’s Sarnia Sting until after the 2014-15 season. Letowski has been named the coach for the Windsor Spitfires.
In a game in which The Pittsburgh Penguins on October 14 (2006), Letowski was hit by the Penguins’ Colby Armstrong following an exchange inside the Penguins zone. Letowski was unconscious, and taken off the ice using an ambulance. It was not a crime in the incident.
Letwoski returned to where he began his career with the Sting, taking up an assistant coaching role on April 17, 2010. He was promoted to head coach on June 14, 2013.
Letowski began the 2010-11 OHL season as an assistant coach of the Sarnia Sting, however, on February 6, 2011, Dave MacQueen was fired as head coach and GM and Letowski took over serving as interim head coach. In 18 games as the head coach, the Sting went 7-10-1, as they missed the playoffs for the second straight season.
The team signed him by Columbus Blue Jackets as a free agent on the 3rd of July 2003. He was there for two seasons, which were split by a one-year contract with Switzerland together with HC Fribourg-Gotteron of the Swiss Nationalliga A during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. Letowski was signed by the Carolina Hurricanes as a free agent on the 6th of July 2006, and was there during two years.

Letowski began his professional career playing as a junior for Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. Letowski was selected at the 7th round 173rd overall, with the Phoenix Coyotes in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. The Sting declared him the The Rookie of Year during the season 1994-95. Letowski was awarded an Olympic gold medal with Team Canada in the World Junior Championships in Switzerland in 1997. After his third and last year with the Sting He spent the 1997-98 season with Springfield Falcons, Phoenix’s American Hockey League affiliate. The 2001-02 season was in its midpoint on the 28th of December, 2001 Letowski was dealt by the Coyotes together alongside Todd Warriner and Tyler Bouck with Tyler Bouck, for the Vancouver Canucks for Drake Berehowsky and Denis Pederson.
He joined Barys Astana as a free agent on August 3, 2008. Following the conclusion of the 2009–10 season, his second year with Astana, Letowski announced his retirement.
