Jarry was chosen for his fellow Penguins during the 2nd round (44th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Jarry participated in his very first NHL in a preseason match on September 28 2016, where he recorded 30 saves in a 2-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite a nagging injury in the early season to the goalie who started the season, Matt Murray, the Penguins brought Jarry to Wilkes-Barre to begin the AHL season, and then appointed Mike Condon as backup. The team had Jarry as the goalie of choice for the new Penguins Jarry posted career-high numbers over 45 games, which included 28 wins as well as an average of 2.15 goals against average. He also earned the honor of being selected to the all-star team for 2017 being awarded the Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award and aiding Wilkes-Barre end the season with the best record of during the season. Jarry was invited into the NHL on April 9 following day, and on the same day, he made the NHL debut, playing with the Penguins in an 3-2 loss against the New York Rangers on the last game during the season during a game where Magnus Hellberg also made his debut NHL debut. Because of an injury to Matt Murray, Jarry remained on the NHL roster as a replacement to veteran Marc-Andre Flaeury. Jarry was in uniform for 11 games in the playoffs, until Murray returned from injury. Penguins continued to be Stanley Cup Champions. Jarry received a third Stanley Cup ring from the Penguins organization even though he only played in only one NHL game. Jarry did not wear a uniform for the finals and it was impossible for him to get his name printed on the trophy.
Jarry attended the Penguins training and development camp prior to the 2018–19 season. He was injured in the Penguins last preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on September 28 and was placed on the Penguins injured non-roster prior to the beginning of the 2018–19 season. He was eventually assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on October 5. Jarry recorded the first goal scored by a goaltender in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins history during a 5–1 win over the Springfield Thunderbirds on November 14,

He was in uniform for the two games in Pittsburgh’s playoffs Pittsburgh but was returned to the minors once Murray returned from injury. In May 19 he was called back for the remainder of the season, as an emergency goalie. Jarry was a rookie playing for his team the Edmonton Oil Kings during the 2011-12 WHL season, where he played 14 games and an 0.894 saving percentage. However, Jarry was recalled the very next day after Murray suffered a concussion the day prior. On July 26, 2018 the Penguins re-signed Jarry to a two-year, $1.35 million contract extension worth $650,000 annually. The extension is a two-way deal in 2018–19, and a one-way deal in 2019–20.
