Steven Levert “Steve” Clarkson (born on October 31 1961) is a American soccer coach. He is based at Pasadena, California, he is regarded as a top quarterback coach. Clarkson has taught Ben Roethlisberger, Brett Hundley, Matt Leinart, J. P. Losman, Gino Torretta, Matt Barkley, Tim Tebow, Josh Freeman, and Jimmy Clausen, among others. Clarkson is famous for helping obtain deals to David Sills from University of Southern California and Tate Martell from the University of Washington at the age of 13. David Sills currently plays for the Buffalo Bills after signing as an UDFA.

After being unable to be drafted in the 1983 NFL Draft, Clarkson played an entire season with the Denver Broncos and two seasons with Canada Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1983 and 1984. He was later the district manager of a chain of steakhouses before he switched to coaching football.
