Sosene Anesi is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on June 3, 1981 in Apia, Tuamasaga, Samoa. Sosene Raymond Anesi (born 3 June 1981 in Apia, Samoa) is an ex-rugby union footballer playing as fullback as well as a wing and is now as the coach at Timisoara Saracens.

Anesi currently plays with RCM MVT Timisoara and was an integral part of the winning team for the Premiership in 2013. Anesi is the first All Black and one of the very first Super Rugby players to play in the SuperLiga. The first time he played at the Superliga against Farul Constanta was on 13 July 2013 at Stadionul of Rugby Mihai Naca|Constanta. It wasn’t alone as a Super Rugby player to debut Nathan Eyres Brown, an ex- Queensland Reds player debuting for Farul Constanta.

Anesi injured his neck during the second round of Super 14 match against the Wellington Hurricanes at Waikato Stadium on the 9th of February, 2007 at Waikato Stadium. A hefty tackle by Hurricanes Ma’a Nonu, the Hurricanes’ winger, resulted in the injury, which will keep Anesi out of the 2007 season. He suffered a break to the C6 vertebra of his neck. There was a shift in the M25 and C6 vertebrae. The surgery is not urgent but he did need to go through a recovery period. Anesi returned during two seasons of Air New Zealand Cup.

Anesi was born in Samoa in New Zealand in 2000 on the basis of a rugby scholarship, which was jointly offered by St Joseph’s College in Apia and St John’s College in Hamilton. Anesi was able to make the National Provincial Championship debut for Waikato in 2003. He was a player for Waikato’s Chiefs throughout the Super 14 up until 2007. In 2007, he got his All Blacks debut from the bench in the 2005 match against Fiji at Albany but didn’t take part in any more tests. In 2010, and 2011 He played with the Waratahs in the Super Rugby competition, in 2012 he played in the NTT Communications Shining Arcs Japan’s Top League and the NSW Shute Shield competition played by the Parramatta Two Blues Rugby club. He is currently playing with RCM MVT Timisoara, 2012 and 2013 SuperLiga Champion from Romania.

He was a part of the New Zealand sevens team in 2004 and was also part of the team that took medals at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
