Silvia Neid is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on May 2, 1964 in Walldürn, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Silvia Neid (born on May 2, 1964) is a former professional German soccer player and manager. She is among many of the top players within German women’s football. She has been awarded seven national championships as well as six DFB-Pokal trophy. Between 2005 between 2005 and the year 2016, Neid was the chief coach for Germany women’s national team. She was the FIFA World Women’s Coach of the Year in 2010, 2013 and 2016.

Neid was assistant manager for the national team’s senior squad under Tina Theune-Meyer. She then taking over as head coach on June 20, 2005. She guided players to win in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup, beating Brazil by 2-0 in the final. She also coached Brazil to victory at during the Olympic team won the 2016 Summer Olympics. Neid was removed from her position as the head coach on August of 2016.

Following her retirement from sports, Neid took a coaching position for her German ladies’ national soccer team. She was in charge of the team for under- 19s that took home the 2004 World Championship and finished second during the Women’s Championship under her guidance.

As as a German player, Neid made her debut on the 10th of November, 1982 against Switzerland. Her two scores during the game, one of which occurred only a few minutes after she was on the pitch. Neid was the winner of she won the UEFA Women’s Championship three times in 1989, 1995 and 1996 and was in the semi-finals of 1995’s FIFA Women’s World Cup. The final match was her 1996 Summer Olympics at Atlanta in the final against Brazil.

The career of Neid as a player began with SV Schlierstadt, later renamed to Klinge Seckach. She was a part of the club until 1983, when she joined SSG Bergisch Gladbach, then the most dominant side that played in German football. She took home the double with SSG during 1984 however she transferred to TSV Siegen following a title-less 1985 season. The club had the most prosperous times under her leadership with the club, winning six championships and five cups. In 1994, when Gerd Neuser stepped down as coach of Siegen at the end of 1994, Neid asked for an appointment with SG Praunheim however, the club refused. Neid quit following the 1996 season.
