Paul LaPolice (June 12, 1970) is the head coach of the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has been a two-time Grey Cup champion as an assistant coach, and most recently in 2019, working with his team the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as the offensive coordinator. He previously served as the head coach of the Blue Bombers from 2010 to 2012, accumulating an overall winning record that included 28 wins, and 16 losses. He also served as a television broadcaster for TSN.

In 2004, he joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as the team’s receivers coach. He was on the team for two years, before joining his former team, the Toronto Argonauts, again, as their receivers coach. Following the time that the former Argos offensive coordinator Kent Austin was hired as head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, LaPolice joined the team as their receivers coach. Following the time that Austin was fired as well Roughrider offensive coordinator Ken Miller was promoted to head coach, LaPolice was then promoted to offensive coordinator in 2008. The team was 12-6 in 2008, and then lost in the opening round of playoffs. In 2009 the Roughriders were ranked first within the West Division for the first time in their history, winning the West final, but lost the Grey Cup final to the Montreal Alouettes on the last game. LaPolice’s offense was second in scoring, and second in touchdowns scored when he assisted the team’s rookie quarterback Darian Durant get receive a Western Division All Star nomination.

TSN brought LaPolice on board as a guest analyst for the 2012 playoffs. From 2013 to 2015, LaPolice worked full-time for the CFL on TSN, hosting a segment called the “Coach’s Playbook” and appearing occasionally on the TSN panel.

On December 7, 2019, it was announced that LaPolice had agreed to a three-year contract to become the head coach of the Ottawa Redblacks.

LaPolice began his career in into the Canadian Football League in 2000 at the time that Toronto Argonauts head coach John Huard appointed him as the team’s Quarterbacks and Receiver coach. He served for two years as a receivers coach until he was hired by with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and became their offensive coordinator as well as quarterbacks, receivers, as well as running backs’ coach. The team established 14 records for their offensive teams in 2002, with Khari Jones throwing an NFL record 46 touchdowns, and slotback Milt Stegall catching league-record 23 touchdown passes, and was awarded the league’s most outstanding player. The offense was not as successful, with an underperforming Khari Jones during 2003, and LaPolice was dismissed after the end of the season.

He entered the ranks of coaching in 1993 with Maine Maritime Academy where he was the receivers and tight ends coach for an 11-1 team that took home the NEFC and ECAC championships. In the following year, he was a coach for receivers on Western Connecticut State University. He was then promoted to an assistant coach for receivers at University of New Hampshire for the following two years (1995-1996). The year 1997 saw him became as the receiver and quarterback coach for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In the next year, he was appointed offensive coordinator, where his teams beat 21 school records in offensive play over 2 seasons (1998-1999). In 1998, the team’s tailback Krishaun Gilmore received the honor of being named UCAA in addition to ECAC Coach of the Year as well as was a first-team all American selection. LaPolice was born and grew up from Nashua, New Hampshire. After finishing his education at Nashua High School in Nashua, New Hampshire, LaPolice went to Plymouth State College where he was an open receiver on the team of football. LaPolice graduated with a Master of Science degree in physical education in 1994.

On February 5, 2010, LaPolice was hired as the 28th head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. His first season as head coach of the Blue Bombers saw the team win only four games and miss the playoffs while setting a CFL record for most losses by four points or less (nine times).
