Solli signed a three year contract with Brann on 16 March 2007. The transfer fee was 6,000,000 Kron. Brann’s first season with Solli was a great success. Solli, along with Thorstein Helstad (his Rosenborg colleague), became an integral part Brann’s winning title squad and was awarded a spot in Norway’s national team. Solli’s partnership with Brann in 2009 saw him again attract interest from European sides, including the Bundesliga side 1. FC Koln.

Solli signed with Vålerenga of Norway in February 2013. In March 2014 he signed with Swedish side Hammarby.

In 2003, Solli joined Rosenborg in Trondheim. He made four starts and ten substitute appearances during the second half of the season. The club won its 12th consecutive league title. In his fifth season as a professional footballer, he scored his league-leading goal against Viking in the Rosenborg’s first season. He was also a regular at the European campaigns that followed. In August 2004, he scored an important goal against Maccabi Haifa in UEFA Champions League’s third qualifying round. He was also instrumental in the winning of the 2006 and 2004 league titles.

Solli made his senior debut in 2000 Tippeligaen and played five games as a substitute in his first season. Over three and a quarter seasons, he played 54 league matches for the club. Solli made 33 official appearances in his first season for New York, playing primarily at right back. In his second season with the club, he scored his first goal for New York on 25 June 2012 in a 3-2 win over D.C. United. On 15 November 2012 New York announced that it would not offer Solli a contract extension, thus ending his tenure with the club.
