Siim Liivik is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Player who was born on February 14, 1988 in Paide, Järva County, Estonia. Siim Liivik (born 14 February 1988) is an Estonian-Finnish professional player for the EC KAC of the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL).

With the nickname Marka-Simo, Siim Liivik was featured in the music video for the track “Haissa” by Finnish rappers Jare & VilleGalle. The single , which was released on Monsp, the Monsp Finnish record label, became extremely well- loved and climbed to the top of the Finnish Singles Chart. Official music videos, directed by andrei6000, features Marka-Simo performing along with the duo.

As Liivik has previously represented Finland, he is not allowed to represent Estonia at the World Championships. To change the right of representation, Liivik should also play for four years in the Estonian national leagues. The Estonian Hockey Association has applied to the International Hockey Association for an exemption to change Liivik’s right of representation. He was nominated for the Estonian national team in the November 2018 Baltic Challenge Cup. Since then, Liivik has played practice matches for the Estonian national team in the 2019-2020 season.

Liivik began his professional journey with HIFK in the year 2008. Prior to joining Helsinki’s initial team, the player was a player throughout the United States with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League. He also played for HIFK at various levels of youth.

Liivik was a part of the Finland for the national team at Finland’s participation in the World U20 Championships for in the year 2008.

He made his debut for HIFK during the season 2008-09 opening game against local opponents Jokerit on the 11th of September, 2008. On September 30, 2008, Liivik scored his first goal in the SM-liiga during a game HIFK played KalPa on their own at home. Liivik was the winner of the Finnish hockey championships during his 2010-11 campaign. Following his first professional season with HIFK Liivik was transferred as an unrestricted free agent to a fellow Liiga team The Espoo Blues on 8 April 2013.
