Scott MacLeod (born 3 March 1979 in Hawick) is a retired Scottish rugby union footballer. He played his last game as an assistant at Newcastle Falcons. He is in active service with the club as a coach. He retired from football at the close of the season 2016-16.
MacLeod has been let go by the Scarlets in accordance with mutual consent on January 29th, 2009. MacLeod then signed for Edinburgh on the same day.

MacLeod was first introduced to rugby at the age of 21 being a former avid basketball and golf player. MacLeod was a member of Hawick Trades before going on to play for Hawick RFC, with whom was crowned the BT Cellnet Cup in 2002 and was then a part of The Borders professional team when it was established in the year. MacLeod was a member of the Borders at the under-21 level however, he left The Border Reivers to join Llanelli Scarlets during the 2006-07 season. He also made his debut with Llanelli Scarlets in the West Wales team on a trip to Ulster during the opening day of the Magners League. MacLeod made his return in Scottish the sport in January of 2008 when he signed for Edinburgh.
MacLeod began his career for Scotland’s Scottish national team on November 6, 2004 in a game against Australia He has won 24 caps overall, 15 of them as substitutes. MacLeod was part of the Scotland team in 2007’s Rugby World Cup, where MacLeod played in five games (four as an extra).
In November 2010, MacLeod confirmed that he was moving to Japan. He has signed for the Kobe Kobelco Steelers for their upcoming 2011–12 Top League campaign.
