Maria Victoria, a lawyer and Vice President of Fundacion Solidaridad por Colombia a non-profit organisation located in Bogota. She got married Jaime Granja Leudo with whom she had a child, Claudia Alexandra, but she later divorced. After her second marriage, she had two children, Laura as well as Santiago.

In the wake of the denial of two previous presidential candidates and president Juan Manuel Santos Calderon submitted the candidature of Turbay for consideration by the Swiss Government for acceptance and, after being granted the blessing Turbay was officially sworn in on the 8th of January 2009 by Chancellor Jaime Merizalde to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for the Republic of Colombia to the Swiss Confederation with dual recognition with Liechtenstein. On October 24, 2002 Turbay was officially sworn-in as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of Colombia to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay with two accreditations as Permanent Rep to Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) by President Alvaro Uribe Velez in a ceremony that was held in the Palace of Narino. The following month, she presented her credentials next month to the President of Uruguay Jorge Batlle Ibanez at the Estevez Palace on the 8th of November and also at the same time to ALADI Secretary General Juan Francisco Rojas Penso on 24 November.
