Pat McCready (born October 18 1974 ) in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a retired Canadian lacrosse player who spent the bulk part of the National Lacrosse League career for Rochester Knighthawks and Buffalo Bandits. In 2013, he was ranked 3rd in NLL history for loose balls (1,593) and second with penalty minute (468) while he is seventh on the list of the number of games performed (219).
McCready was the winner of his first Mann Cup with the Brampton Excelsiors in 1998. He also was awarded the Presidents Cup in 2003 with the Kitchener- Waterloo Kodiaks. He is currently playing in the Peterborough Lakers of Major League Lacrosse.
On December 18, 2010 McCready signed a one-year deal with the Rochester Knighthawks. He played the 2011 and 2012 seasons as a teammate of his nephew, Joel McCready, winning a championship in 2012. McCready retired before the 2013 season.

McCready began his professional lacrosse debut in 1996, playing for The Charlotte Cobras. In 1997, McCready joined the Rochester Knighthawks where he played until his transfer with the Buffalo Bandits in a blockbuster deal that swapped seven players from the respective teams prior beginning the season in 2002. McCready made his debut in 2007 when McCready played in the National Lacrosse League All-Star Game debut.

The nephew of Pat, Joel McCready, currently is a player in Joel McCready, who plays for the Rochester Knighthawks. The late father of Pat’s, Bob “Buff” McCready, who was the Bandits the their first coach when they took over in 1992 was inducted into Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1997.
McCready was a player for five years in his team, the St. Catharines Athletics of the OLA Junior A Lacrosse League. When he was a rookie playing for the Niagara Spartan Warriors, he was selected to the Athletics. McCready was a part of the team for through the entire playoffs, and helped the team win their second league title in two years. As of 1995, McCready received the title of team’s “Best Defensive Player”.
On August 5, 2009, McCready was traded from the Buffalo Bandits along with a third round draft pick in 2009 to the Toronto Rock in exchange for a second round draft pick in the 2009 entry draft, first round pick in 2010, and a second round pick in 2011.
