Maurice Ross is one of the most popular and richest Scottish football player who was born on February 3, 1981 in Scotland, United Kingdom. Maurice Alexander Ross, a Scottish coach and football player, was born 3 February 1981. He is currently the reserve manager at Motherwell FC.

Viking, Stavanger Norway signed Ross in March 2007. Ross signed a three year contract with Viking from Stavanger, Norway. However, he opted to join Turkish Super League side Kocaelispor early in February 2009. Ross and four other players had their contracts terminated after Kocaelispor achieved league status. Ross asked Mark McGhee, the Aberdeen manager, if he could use Pittodrie’s facilities to get fit and eventually signed a contract with another club. The Dons offered him a temporary contract until January. Ross stated that he wanted to move abroad during winter transfer window. On 11 January 2010, it was announced that Ross signed for Beijing Guoan, a Chinese club. He signed for the Chinese Super League champions on February 10, 2010. Ross scored his first goal in the club’s 3-1 loss to Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma at the 2010 AFC Champions League.

Ross joined Rangers as a trainee and made his senior debut in a 7–1 defeat of home town team Dundee, in February 2000. He captained the Rangers Under-21s to a reserve league championship win during 2000–01 but it was not until the 2002–03 season, under Alex McLeish, that he established himself on the first team. A highlight was scoring the opening goal of the 2005 Scottish League Cup Final.

On 24 January 2019, Ross re-joined Motherwell in a youth coaching capacity, as their Head of 18’s to 21’s.

Ross signed a four-year contract with Rangers in 2003. However, Ross was out of favor at Rangers by August 2005. He was offered a free transfer to Sheffield Wednesday. The transfer was not a success. Ross made only two appearances on Wednesday, and was then loaned to Wolves for two months. Wolves converted the loan into a permanent contract in January 2006. Ross signed a six month contract, but was later released by Wolves. Ross was offered a contract with Millwall and was able to play in the opening five games. He was then dropped from the team after failing to perform well.

Ross made his senior debut in professional football in February 2000. He played for 11 different clubs, including Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He won all of the domestic honours in Scotland while he was with Rangers. He was a right back player and was capped 13 times by the Scotland national team.

After only a handful of appearances for Rangers, Berti Vogts called him up to the Scotland team. Ross made his international debut in 2002 against South Korea and was part of the team that qualified for Euro 2004.
