Mark Andrew Greaves (born 22 January 1975) is an English former professional footballer who was a defensive player. He was a player with Brigg Town Hull City, Boston United, Burton Albion, York City, Gainsborough Trinity and North Ferriby United.

He was released following one season at Burton and was re-joined by the fellow Conference Premier side York City on May 14, 2008. He was appointed captain of the club during this season. His first appearance was in a 1-0 win against Crawley Town and scored the sole goal in the match against Wrexham. Greaves had a food-borne illness in September. It caused him to lose 9 pounds, and was forced to miss York’s game with Kidderminster Harriers. He scored an equaliser in the 94th minute in the match against Mansfield during the Conference League Cup third round on the 4th of November. York ended up winning 4-2 after an extra shoot-out after an 1-1 draw in extra time. He was a starter with the 2009 FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium on the 9th May 2009 in which York lost 2 -0 against Stevenage Borough. After the conclusion of the season, in which he played 46 games as well as scoring four goals began talks with York for a new deal.

Greaves was among a number of players released by Gainsborough at the end of the 2010–11 season and on 28 June 2011 he signed for Northern Premier League Premier Division side North Ferriby United. In October, having made 11 appearances in all competitions for North Ferriby, Greaves announced his retirement as a footballer.

On 30 January 2015, he returned to the game, joining Humber Premier League outfit Hull United.

He was a part of 175 games with five scoring goals across every competition for the team before making the move towards Burton Albion in the Conference Premier in July 2007. He did this after having finished the 2006-07 season with Boston’s player of the year that saw the team suffer two Relegations. He was part of 46 games as well as scored 5 goals during the 2007-08 campaign, but he was not able to play in the play-offs because of the fracture of his jaw.

Greaves was born from Kingston upon Hull, Humberside, Greaves started his career at Brigg Town, where he was awarded the FA Vase winners medal before joining his hometown Hull City. Hull City on 17 June 1996. The club named him Hull’s player of the year in 2000-99. He played the entirety of his Hull career with the Third Division and made 204 appearances and scored 12 goals across all competitions prior to being released in 2002.

He was hired to a contract by Boston United caretaker manager Neil Thompson in August 2002. He signed a second two-year deal with Boston United in April 2004 and, after the contract expired, it was agreed to a one year contract in May of 2006.

Greaves was eventually released by York in June and signed for Conference North team Gainsborough Trinity on 7 July. He made 37 appearances and scored one goal in the 2009–10 season and he signed a new contract with the club in June 2010.
