Ghiraldini began his professional career with Petrarca Rugby in his home town of Padua before making the move into Rugby Calvisano in 2005 where in his capacity as the captain was crowned the Super 10 (now Top12) in 2008 and finished second-place finisher in 2006. Then, in 2009 Ghiraldini made the move to Benetton Treviso that was a part of in the Celtic League in 2010.
Ghiraldini made his debut in an international match with Japan during Italy’s summer 2006 tour. Ghiraldini was part of the Italian team to play in the 2007 Six Nations Championship and the 2007 Rugby World Cup, he made his World Cup debut against Portugal. He was part of the Italy team during the 2008 Six Nations Championship, playing as the hooker who started every game of the tournament.
