Christine Bestland (born April 28 the 28th of April, 1993) was a Canadian Ice hockey participant who plays in the Mercyhurst Lakers women’s ice hockey program. Prior to joining Mercyurst, Bestland was involved in hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence.

For the 11-12 Mercyhurst Lakers women’s ice hockey season opening game the 30th of September, Bestland won the title of First Star with a 4-0 win against the nationally recognized Quinnipiac Bobcats.

From January 29–30, 2011, Bestland scored two goals and dished out an assist in the Lakers’ swept Niagara at Dwyer Arena. She scored a goal in each game and dished out an assist for two points on the 29th.

On December 3–4, 2010, Bestland scored three goals and had two assists as the Lakers swept the Purple Eagles for the first time since the 2008-09 season. She stretched her scoring streak to a career-long three games in Saturday’s 7-2 victory.

At the time of her high school graduation, she was a student at the Winnipeg’s Balmoral Hall prep school. The same school also produced its Mercyhurst co- teammate Bailey Bram. In March of 2010, Bestland was one of eight female players from Manitoba who were part of David Roy’s Pursuit of Excellence hockey academy in Kelowna, B.C. She was a part of an all women’s Midget AAA team that took home the Challenge Cup tournament in Washington, D.C. after defeating Little Caesar’s of Detroit with a score of 6-4 in the championship game of the tournament that featured 26 teams. The overall record for the team for 2009-10 was 52-3 including a 7-1 defeat to Sweden’s Olympic team in March and three wins in major tournaments.

Bestland played for Canada’s Women’s Hockey team under 18 when she was just 16 years old. She was also a part of Canadian Hockey’s Pursuit of Excellence AAA midget team. Bestland made up the Excellence team that played in Sweden’s Olympic women’s team before Vancouver. When the Lakers reached 6-1-0 in the month of October of 2010, Bestland had four points which included two in a 7-3 loss to the Robert Morris Colonials. She also had six assists. In her debut match as a Laker she scored an assist. She scored goals in all five the seven games she played and concluded the month with the score of +13.

On December 7, 2013, Bestland logged the 200th point of her NCAA career in an 8-0 victory against Penn State.
