Ernesto Sanz (born 9 December 1956) is an Argentine Radical Civic Union (UCR) politician. He was a member of the Argentine Senate which represented Mendoza Province.

Sanz was elected as Senator to Mendoza during 2003. He was a member of his fellow senators on the Senate Budget and Domestic Economic Policy committees, later committees such as the Constitutional, Investment, Argentina-Chile relations and Committees on Federal Budget Sharing as well as other committees. He was elected as the top members of the Budget Committee, and in 2007 he was the chairman of the UCR Senate caucus. Sanz was a Vice-Governor candidate with Roberto Iglesias in 2007; the campaign, however, failed to win the election by Justicialist Party candidate Celso Jaque who finished fourth with 10percent of votes. Sanz was involved in an accident with his car in March 2008 when he was driving on the Atuel River in Mendoza; He was quickly able to recover.

Sanz was elected to the Senate by a majority vote in 2009, and then in December, he was elected President of the UCR National Committee. Sanz announced his candidacy on February 2, 2011 to run in an election to the UCR presidential primary that was scheduled in April. His main opponent was congressman Ricardo Alfonsin, was described by Sanz as “an appeal to nostalgia” (in reference to his father, the former president Raul Alfonsin). Sanz pulled out just prior to the primary on April 28 however, and Alfonsin came in third place in the general election of 2011.
