Vivian Chukwuemeka (born 4 May 1975) is a Nigerian shot putter, and a two-time Olympian. She was awarded the gold medal in shot put event at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and has been awarded three times during the All-Africa Games from 1999 to 2007. It was her African Champion in the event in 2002, 2006 , and 2008. In addition, she competes in hammer and discus throwing but not at a world-class level.
She was given a two-year suspension from athletics following failing a drug test at the 2009 Nigerian Championships. Chukwuemeka was involved in a heated dispute in her fellow athletes at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria. The “B” sample had several mistakes in the clerical process, such as the bottle numbers being inconsistent and the location of the meeting where the sample was taken and she was denied permission for a person to be during the second test at the time in South Africa. She also accused Nigerian doping officials of sexual harassment and corruption and also accused the president of the Federation Solomon Ogba of coercing Amaka Ogoegbunam into a confessional investigation of her involvement in the distribution of drugs. The appeals panel dismissed her claims. the appeals panel, and her ban of two years from IAAF remains.
