Dominic Toninato is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Player who was born on March 9, 1994 in Duluth, Minnesota, United States. The father of his son, Jim Toninato, was also a former collegiate athlete at the Minnesota University-Duluth. He scored 54 points in the course of 155 games during his four-year playing career with the Bulldogs from 1982 until 1986. In his time at UMD, Toninato majored in Human Resources Management.

Toninato is a native of and grew up at Duluth, Minnesota, and initially played in High School hockey at Duluth East High School. Toninato was chosen as the captain of the team for the Greyhounds during the 2011-12 season. He completed a successful three-season career by aiding the School to secure a fourth straight place at the Minnesota State Class AA Tournament and scored a 61-point season. He scored the numbers of 34 assists and 27 goals during 25 games. He was named the Mr. Hockey Award finalist and also securing an appearance on the All-State second team. On the 24th of January in 2012 Toninato was following in his father’s steps in signing a commitment to play in the NCAA tournament at Minnesota’s University-Duluth.

In his junior season with the Bulldogs in 2015–16, Toninato saw a dip in his production, scoring 15 goals and 21 points in 40 games and suffered a second successive regional finals failure in a 3–2 defeat to Boston College. Despite a contract offer in the off-season by the Maple Leafs to turn professional, Toninato passed to return for his senior year as captain with UMD.

In the 2016–17 season, Toninato registered a season best 29 points with 16 goals and 13 assists in 42 games and finished with a team-high +25 plus/minus rating. He led the Bulldogs to their first-ever NCHC title and advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four Championship game before suffering a defeat to the University of Denver. He was selected to the NCHC All-Tournament Team and honored as the league’s best Defensive Forward.

Toninato returned to develop his skills as a player with Fargo from the USHL for the 2012-13 season. He put together a very productive season, finishing the eighth spot in league scoring with 70 points from 64 regular season games. He also scored six points during the 13-game playoff series during which the Force made it towards the Clark Cup finals and was chosen to the USHL’s second All-Star Team.
