David Edward Wojcik (born December 12th 1968) is an American college basketball coach, who was most recently the head coach of men’s basketball at San Jose State. Doug, his brother Doug is also an assistant basketball coach in the NCAA Division I men’s level for basketball.
in 1993 Wojcik came back to Loyola and was a part of Skip Prosser’s staff as an assistant coach. After a 2-25 record between 1992 and 1993, Loyola was a participant in the 1994 NCAA Tournament after winning the MAAC Tournament for the school’s first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Wojcik was the one to follow Prosser into Xavier and served as an assistant at the school from 1994 until 1997. Wojcik played a role in helping Xavier to win their Midwestern Collegiate Conference (now Horizon League) regular season championships both in 1997 and 1995, two years during which Xavier reached it to the NCAA Tournament. Wojcik first began coaching during the 1991-92 season of James Madison University, under Lefty Driesell. He was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007. The following year, James Madison finished second in the Colonial Athletic Association and made the 1992 National Invitation Tournament. In the following year, Wojcik returned to West Virginia as an assistant coach at Division II West Liberty State.

A resident in Wheeling, West Virginia, Dave Wojcik graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School in 1987. While at Wheeling Central Catholic High School Wojcik performed as a point guard, and was also a McDonald’s Honorable All-American Mention as an senior.
Wojcik later attended Loyola College in Baltimore and was a member of the Loyola Greyhounds men’s basketball team for four seasons as a player under the guidance of head coach Mark Amatucci from 1987 to 1989, and then coach Tom Schneider from 1989 to 1991. In his first season, Wojcik played 29 games with eight starts, with an average of 3.2 scores and 1.2 rebound. In February of 1989 Wojcik achieved the first triple-double at school in history, scoring the score of 14 points and 10 rebound as well as 11 assist in the 109-77 victory against Saint Francis University. Wojcik finished his sophomore season playing in 25 games, averaged 7.3 points. He also had 2.2 in rebounds and 4.5 assists. The junior year (1989-90), Wojcik played in 29 games, with eight starts, and scored 1.9 scores and 0.9 rebound. In 1990-91, as a senior, Wojcik played in 10 games, with only one start. He was averaging 0.8 scores and 0.3 rebound. Wojcik was a graduate of Loyola on the 21st of November in 1991. He graduated with an education bachelor’s degree.
Wojcik again was an assistant coach at Loyola from 1997 to 2000, this time under Dino Gaudio. In 2000, Wojcik returned to Wheeling Central Catholic High School to be athletic director, a position he would hold until 2003. Wojcik also was varsity boys’ basketball head coach at Wheeling Central Catholic from 2001 to 2003 and led the school to two West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission class A titles in 2002 and 2003.

Wojcik’s second season was even worse, with a 2–28 (0–18 MWC) record, with the two wins against non-Division I opponents. The season was rife with roster depletions from injuries and disciplinary issues. Three players suffered season-ending injuries early in the season. Wojcik announced on December 13, 2014 that five players were suspended indefinitely due to violating team rules; as a result, two members of the San Jose State football team joined the roster temporarily. Five days later, associate head coach Chris Brazelton was placed on paid administrative leave. Ultimately, two of the suspended players, Rashad Muhammad and Jaleel Williams, were reinstated on January 3, 2015. Two other suspended players were dismissed from the team, and another transferred.
