Gary Arthur McDaniel (born February 1st 1954 ) is better known as the nickname, Chuck Dukowski, is an American punk rock musician . He was an original member, musician, bassist and songwriter of Black Flag.

Dukowski has formed a new group along with his wife, musician and artist Lora Norton, and his son Milo named the Chuck Dukowski Sextet. The band have released the debut of their album Eat My Life, on his own Nice & Friendly Records in 2006. in 2013. Chuck released the band’s debut album, Flag with ex- Black Flag members Keith Morris, Bill Stevenson, Dez Cadena as well as Descendents/All guitar Stephen Egerton to perform the music of Black Flag.

Chuck Dukowski was responsible for the organization of Nationwide and international tours, taking Black Flag across the globe to spread their anarchic music message of freedom in speech and expression throughout the world throughout their initial tour dates up until 1986. Dukowski was also the composer of several of the band’s most well-known songs, such as “My War,” “The Bars,” “I Love You” and “Modern Man.” The band disbanded before The War’s release My War, and afterward was the Black Flag’s manager. Dukowski was also Co-Owner SST Records. SST Records until 1989.

The first group formed by Dukowski was Wurm that formed in 1973. In 1977, the group was relocated into Hermosa Beach and lived in the communal house known as “the Wurmhole”. Keith Morris and Greg Ginn were frequent guests at Wurmhole events and later Dukowski joined the other members to form the band Panic. Panic switched their names change to Black Flag after discovering another group with the title “Panic”.

Following the release of Black Flag, Dukowski reformed Wurm that continued to play up to the time the guitarist Ed Danky died. Other groups Dukowski created comprise SST “supergroup” October Faction and SWA was formed in 1985 by Merrill Ward of Overkill.

In 2013, Dukowski along with Keith Morris, Dez Cadena, Bill Stevenson and Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton formed Flag to tour playing Black Flag songs.
