Che'Nelle is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on March 10, 1983 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Cheryline Ernestine Lim was born on March 10, 1983 to an Chinese father and a mother who was mix family of Indian and Dutch roots. The birthplace was Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Lim and her family relocated from Malaysia to Perth, Australia when she was 10 years old. When she was a kid, she got the notice of her father for performing in the karaoke bar after he saw her talent. Later on, she started writing and recording her own songs at home in her studio. Sir Charles Dixon discovered her talents when she uploaded a portion of her songs to Myspace. Dixon sent her work into Virgin Records as well. Virgin brought Che’nelle over on a flight to New York City at the end of 2005, to meet representatives of the label. The head of the label and long-time music business tycoon, Jason Flom, signed her immediately. After two working days she signed the contract and was advertised as a top artist. Che’nelle was a promotion assistant prior to her move into New York in January after signing a deal for six albums for Virgin Records America. In Australia she will be represented by EMI.

Her third album and first cover album, called Luv Songs was released on 20 July 2011 in Japan only, which featured covers of songs by American R&B singers such as Ne-Yo, Minnie Ripperton and Whitney Houston and also songs in Japanese.

Her debut album, Things Happen for a reason was released on the 25th of September 2007 in Japan and on 29 October in Australia. The first single released from the album came from “I Fell in Love with the DJ” featuring reggae singer Cham. The track was also recorded in Bahasa Malaysia and had the title that reads “DJ yang Ku Puja”.
