Yaa Yaa is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on January 25, 1990 in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana. Yaa Yaa (born on 25 January in 1990) is an Ghanaian artist, singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. Before her stage name she performed under her previous identity, Bertha.

The album she released her debut album ”AGOO” was released at a private celebration in Accra in February 2020.

Bertha Bridget Kankam was a native of Kumasi the capital of the Ashanti region, to Ghanaian parents. She was the youngest of the five kids. Yaa Yaa resided in Kumasi all her life, until she moved to Accra to begin her career as a reality television show ‘Stars of the future’. After she was successful in completing the “Stars of the Future show, Yaa Yaa enrolled at University of Ghana, Legon in the School of Performing Arts. She studied Theatre and the minor of Music.

Her brother, Kankam after both took part in auditions at Kumasi, Ghana, made it to the semi-finals. Yaa Yaa was chosen for the top 12 contestants, but her brother was not able to compete further in the contest. She was able to win the contest. Yaa Yaa believes that winning the competition was as the beginning for her professional career. One of the prizes she received from winning “Stars of the Future was the honor that she was an MTN Ambassador for a year. The time she spent with MTN was successful , and MTN renewed her agreement continuously for the following two years following her victory. As the organizers of the reality TV program, Charter House managed Yaa Yaa for two years.
