Ollivon began his career in rugby with his local Academy Bayonne side at the age of 16, prior to being elevated to the main team in 2012, at 19 years old. In the 2012-13 Top 14 season, Charles made his debut for the professional side in a match against Bordeaux Begles on 30 March 2013, after stepping off the bench. He was able to have participated in more games during the season, however the injury to his shoulder required the surgery April 2013. Following the season, he participated in nine games and made his debut on the 4th of September with a 55-0 loss to Clermont. In January 2014, the player was struck by another injury which forced him out for the bulk times during the campaign. Ollivon was announced as the new captain of the French men’s national rugby team in January 2020 by coach Fabien Galthié, following the retirement of previous captain Guilhem Guirado. In his first game as captain, Charles scored 2 tries against England and led them to a 24-17 victory.
