Ayoola Erinle (born 20 February 1980 in Lagos, Nigeria) is well- known as an England international union rugby player. He attended The Oratory School and at King’s College London, representing the school’s 1st XV as well as the King’s College the 1st XV of Rugby Club. He played in professional rugby for clubs like Wasps RFC, Leicester Tigers and Biarritz Olympique, and later moved up the ranks to be a representative for England during 2009. After retirement in 2013, Erinle returned to education and began studying Engineering Physics with Loughborough University where he achieved the first class master’s degree.
In 2007 Erinle was signed to Erinle joined the Leicester Tigers. After his first season with Leicester Erinle played his old side Wasps during the Premiership final. Wasps won, denying Erinle the chance to win his fourth trophy. But the next season Leicester made it to the final, and was defeated by London Irish. Erinle began the final.
On 4 November 2009, he was named in the 22-man England squad to face Australia in the 2009 Autumn internationals. After winning his first cap as a replacement against Australia, Erinle was named in the starting XV for the game against the All Blacks.
In 2009 it was announced the Erinle had signed with French team Biarritz Olympique.
Erinle was a seven-year player with Wasps and his ability to finish led to 11 tries in 19 games for Wasps in the 2004-05 season The final number includes 26 tries across 106 games played for the club.
