Greer used his fifth year eligibility to study graduate business at Bryant University in fall 2008. He played under Mike Pressler, former Duke head coach. Bryant University, a former Division II school played Division I college basketball for the first-time in 2009. Greer scored 68 points in Bryant’s NCAA Division 1 season 2009. He had netted 42 goals and 26 assists. Greer’s 2009 statistics do not count towards official NCAA Division I records because Bryant was moving to Division I.

On September 9, 2009, Greer was drafted 3rd overall in the 2009 NLL entry draft by the Minnesota Swarm. Greer finished his rookie season with 10 goals and 23 points.

The Long Island Lizards selected Greer with the third pick overall in the 2009 MLL draft.
