Wian Du Preez (born 30 October 1982) is a South African rugby union player currently playing at France in the French club Lyon. He is prop, mostly as a loosehead.
Du Preez first played for Munster in the latter part of 2009 after being signed on the loan for three months as an injured backup in place of Marcus Horan. Du Preez was astonished during his brief period there, and in May 2010 it was confirmed in May 2010 that Du Preez was returning to Munster after signing a two-year contract. Du Preez has since been an integral part of the Munster team.
He scored his first try for Munster in their Heineken Cup Round 5 clash with Castres Olympique on 14 January 2012.
On 13 October 2013, Preez moved to France to sign for Lyon ahead of the 2014–15 Top 14 season.
Du Preez was called into the South Africa squad for their Test match against Italy on November 9, 2009 because of his proximity to the game. Du Preez was reported to be unhappy with the absence of opportunities to be a part of the Springboks and, with CJ van der Linde being called back from Leinster to be a part within the Springbok squad, Du Preez decided to put his international career on hold until the following Rugby World Cup.
