After being left out of the 2007 NBA draft, Carter joined the Dallas Mavericks for the 2007 NBA Summer League. Later, he joined Mutlu Aku Selcuk Universitesi of Turkey for the 2007-08 season. In his 29 games the player averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebound per game.
