Tim Stimpson is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on September 10, 1973 in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom. Timothy Richard George Stimpson (born 10 September 1973 in Liverpool) is a former international rugby union full back (and sometimes a wings). In his time, he was a player with Wakefield, West Hartlepool, Newcastle Falcons, Leicester Tigers, Perpignan, Leeds Tykes and Nottingham, England and the British and Irish Lions. The international experience was a non-stop adventure however, he excelled at club levels. Particularly during his five-year stint at Leicester Tigers between 1998 and 2003 as a goalie He was a vital part of the formidable Leicester team that won this league 4 times and also won two consecutive Heineken Cup, becoming the most prolific points- scorer in the Premiership throughout the period (his score of points has since been surpassed by Jonny Wilkinson, and Andy Goode).
The 2001 Heineken Cup Final against Stade Francais Leon Lloyd scored a final minute attempt from the right-hand touchline, which is the most difficult spot to make an attempt with a left-footed kicker — to make the score 32-30 to 34-30 in favor of Leicester. In order to beat Leicester, Stade would have had to score a goal rather than the simpler job of the flyhalf Diego Dominguez, who kicked the entire score of Stade’s with on the goal. The score was not further scored.
In 2003 he was rumoured to be linked to French club Perpignan despite having time left on his contract at Leicester. Despite initial denials from Tigers’ management, he did sign and moved to France after the 2003 World Cup, Tigers releasing him from his contract. However, he failed to play for Perpignan and in 2004 returned to England to play for Leeds Tykes. He decided to retire from playing for Leeds Tykes to pursue a career in coaching in January 2006. In the summer of 2006 his services were used by Nottingham Rugby Club, where he presently holds a part-time coaching role.
Stimpson was a rift with Newcastle’s management team and Rob Andrew during the 1997-98 season, and made only four appearances with them when they took the Premiership. After the season, he joined Leicester Tigers. Following the departure of Joel Stransky in 1999 he was Leicester Tigers’ principal goalkicker.
