After graduation from Connacht’s academy Connacht academy in the Connacht area, O’Halloran received an development contract to run the season 2011-12. O’Halloran was a part of the Connacht youth team at a very young age and was part of the academy team as young as the age of 16. The debut was made against the Olympus in the 2009-10 Challenge Cup, scoring a score at the end of the first 30 minutes. O’Halloran had his first league appearance during the same season, playing against Scarlets in an 2010-11 Celtic League match on 25 April 2010. The following season, still at the academy, O’Halloran was substituted for three times during the season 2010/11 Celtic League, but didn’t play for the Challenge Cup.
