Sperbeck was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on the 1st of May 2017. He was injured or waived on July 30th, 2017 and was placed as an injured reserve. On August 3, 2017 the Buccaneers released Sperbeck from the injured reserve.

The year 2015 saw Thomas established Boise State’s record of receiving yards in a single season in a game against Air Force on November 20 beating Titus Young’s 2010 record of 1,215 yards of receiving yards and racking up 1,412 yards of receiving. Thomas finished the season with 88 catches for 1,412 yards.
