Steven Hunt is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on October 14, 1988 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Steven Mark Hunt (born 14 October 1988) is an ex- South African rugby union player. He played for his country’s South African sevens team between 2010 and 2014. He also was a player for the Western Province in 2009 and in 2011.

He was selected as a member of the Blitzbokke team to play in the Hong Kong and Japan legs of the Sevens Series. He was also selected as an replacement for injuries during the 2013 South Africa Sevens at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, where he was part of the team that beat New Zealand 26-17 in the finals.

Hunt sustained a fractured foot during training prior to the 2015 Hong Kong Sevens, which ruled him out for the rest of the series.

He announced his retirement from professional rugby in May 2015 to pursue his career as a commercial property broker.

Hunt was involved in rugby sevens for his South African Sevens team and made his debut in the Wellington Sevens leg of the 2009-10 IRB Sevens World Series.

He was a student at Grey High School in Port Elizabeth and earned him an invitation to the Eastern Province Kings at youth level. He played for them during the 2006 Under-18 Academy Week as well as for an Eastern Province U19 side in the 2007 Provincial Under-19 Championship.

He later transferred into Cape Town where he joined Western Province. He made his first-class debut with them in their 2009 Currie Cup Premier Division, acting as a substitute during their match with the Leopards. His second appearance for the team came nearly two years later. He was playing in the 2011, Currie Cup Premier Division match against the Pumas in Witbank. Then came two more appearances as a substitute for the team against Griquas in addition to the Leopards.

In 2014, he scored a hat trick against Kenya on Day 1 of the Gold Coast Sevens. It helped contribute to South Africa booking a spot in the quarter- finals.
