In the 2010-11 season, Tandy played a role alongside the Ospreys along with his head coach position for Bridgend RFC. Bridgend RFC. He took the Ravens to winning the Division 1 title, with an astounding score of 96 points (just one loss and one draw short of an unbeaten campaign.) He guided them to the Principality Premiership with victory over Glamorgan Wanderers 38-19 at the Cardiff Arms Park. The coach continued coaching Bridgend Ravens for season 2011/12 however he resigned from the game.
On the 15th of February, 2012 Tandy was appointed to succeed Sean Holley as the head Coach at The Ospreys during a cost-cutting period. Tandy was quoted saying the team felt “shocked” to be appointed to the post and has been “excited” working with the “young and experienced group”.
