In December of 2019 it was announced that Tandy will be being a part of Scottish Rugby as defence coach for the Scottish national team.

In November 2018, Tandy was appointed to in the NSW Waratahs coaching team as the defensive trainer for 2019’s Super Rugby season. Tandy stated “After having experienced what it’s like to be in the NSW Waratahs environment during the 2018 Super Rugby campaign I had no hesitation about accepting the role of defensive coach when the chance arose. I’ve learnt a significant amount from the time I have spent with the team , and getting the opportunity to coach in a different region is both challenging and exciting”
