Stephan Shakespeare is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 9, 1957 in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Shakespeare began his life as Stephan Kukowski in 1957 in Monchengladbach in the city of Monchengladbach, in the town where his German father was a journalist. He worked as responsible for the German Media Liaison officer for the headquarters of the British Army of the Rhine. When he reached the age of five, old, his family relocated to the UK and he was taught in Christ’s Hospital school near Horsham, West Sussex. Stephan is also an artist (as Stephan Kukowski) creating The Brunch Museum together with the fluxus artist George Brecht, first exhibited in London in the year 1976. After finishing his studies at Oxford and completing an one-year course of teaching within Kingston upon Thames, during which he was also part in the Socialist Workers Student Society. He was headmaster and teacher at the time in Los Angeles, California in the 1980s. After marriage to Rosamund Shakespeare, Shakespeare changed his name for the name of his wife.

He is the former owner of the websites ConservativeHome (now owned by Lord Ashcroft) and PoliticsHome (now owned by Dods Parliamentary Communications Ltd) which he launched in April 2008 after closing down his Internet television channel 18 Doughty Street.

After a spell as the joint CEO with co-founder Zahawi, Shakespeare took the title of Chief Innovations Officer until he became sole CEO in May 2010, when Zahawi resigned from the board in order to stand for election to the House of Commons. As of October 2014, Shakespeare owned about 6 percent of YouGov’s shares.

In the general election of 1997, Shakespeare was the Conservative candidate for Colchester however the seat was contested to Bob Russell with a majority of 1,551. The campaign was dominated by Margaret Thatcher, against whom he’d fought when he was an undergraduate 17 years prior was in Colchester in support of his bid to gain the seat to the Conservatives.
