He passed all written and shooting exams to obtain his first concealed weapons permit in North Dakota. He became a prominent figure in the National Gun Debate after he publicly opposed the removal of the shooting section of his CCW permit. This allowed loaded firearms to be carried by people who had no gun safety knowledge. He fought against many sides of this issue and obtained a second CCW from Utah in 2007. This allowed him to carry a firearm across the United States, with reciprocity. He still has a loaded firearm for self- defense, even though it’s been over a decade.
