Murakawa was born in Saitama Prefecture on June 1, 1990. She was a keen player of both magical girl anime and games, starting at an early age. In her fifth grade, she moved to another school. This was a point she would later share with Hotaru Ichijo, her character in the anime series Non Non Biyori.

Murakawa played the role of Escha in the anime adaptation of Atelier Escha & logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. She was also the Megumi Natsu character in Is the Order a Rabbit? Ruri Aoi and Minarai Diva. She was the Nyaa-tan role in Etotama in 2015 and Ram in ReZero – Starting Life in Another World in 2016. In 2017, she was Constanze in Little Witch Academia. In 2018, she was Anzu in Hinamatsuri.
