Scott William Forrest (born 6 August 1984) is a Scottish retired union rugby player who played in the rugby sevens at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, serving as the captain of Scotland’s national team during the tournament and as the head director for Scotland Women 7s from 2012 to 2017. Scotland Women 7s team from 2012 until 2017.
In April 2012, he took over as the coach of the brand all-new Scotland Women 7s team that was scheduled to participate at a FIRA-AER event located in Belgium at the end of June in 2012. After five years of his position and in 2017, he became the replacement for Scott Wight.
In September 2010 , it was announced that Forrest would lead his Scotland Sevens team in the 2010 Commonwealth Games sevens competition in Delhi the city of Delhi, which Forrest later said was the most memorable moment of his career. Following the event (in which Scotland was ranked sixth overall and lost in the Plate final against Samoa), Forrest announced his decision to retire from rugby at 26 years old due to a long-term injury. He was appointed an official of the development of rugby in Inverclyde.

He began with Cambuslang at the age of eight. He was part of Glasgow Warriors from 2005, however, he made his debut with Border Reivers in 2007 shortly before the club’s demise and he signed a seven-semester contract with Scotland and was associated with the Warriors.
For Sevens, Forrest became involved in Scotland squads in 2006, participating in a variety of World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments starting in the 2005-06 World Sevens Series onwards. After breaking his ankle in fifteens cricket in the month of November of 2008, Forrest was able to return to participate in 2009’s Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai the following month which led Scotland towards victory at the Plate (the second-tier competition for players who didn’t make it to the first Cup) and then earning rare semi-final places during the 2009 London Sevens and 2009 Edinburgh Sevens World Series events.
From 2012 Forrest coached the First XV at Cambuslang, then in May 2014 moved to Premiership side Ayr, where he had also been a player, to become the club’s backs specialist.
