On February 15 in 2012, Manoa signed an extension for three years for three years with Northampton Saints. Manoa was awarded his award of Northampton Saints Supporters’ Player of the Year award for in the 2012-2013 Premiership season. In the 2013-14 season, Manoa repeated his feat and was later selected in his RPA Player’s player of the year award as well as The Premiership Player of the Year award. Additionally for the second year consecutively Manoa was named the Saints Supporters Best Player for the Season. In 2014, Manoa began his season as Northampton defeated Saracens to take home the Premiership. Manoa scored his very first English Premiership hat trick on October 11, 2014 , as Northampton defeated Sale Sharks 43-10. In the following two months, Manoa scored a second hat trick during a substitute match where Saints beat Benetton Treviso 67-0 in the European Rugby Champions Cup. After a string of excellent performance in both the Premiership and Champions Cup, Manoa won the Aviva Premiership Player of the Month award for December 2014.
On December 21, 2014, Toulon owner, Mourad Boudjellal confirmed that Manoa signed with Toulon on a four-year contract, the first type of contract to be offered by the club. One week after making his debut for Toloun, Manoa scored his first try for the club in their 52-8 win over Montpellier in November 2015.
In April 2011, Manoa was signed by English Premiership side Northampton Saints for the season 2011-12. Northampton were impressed by Manoa’s ball-playing skills as well as speed and physicality. In the autumn of 2011, Manoa was on the move for the Saints by putting on a string of strong performances in the initial stages of Aviva Premiership Rugby and worked to be part of the Northampton starting rotation. An impressive series of performances led to him being awarded Man of the Match awards for wins against Castres and Harlequins. the fast second rower was a key element of the Saints team. In the 2011-12 season Manoa participated in an impressive 18 Premiership matches for the Saints and started 14 games. Manoa was selected in the 2011-12 Premiership by ESPN as a member of the Premiership 2011-12 “Dream Team.”

Manoa is a native of Concord, California. He began playing rugby when he was 13 years old, along with his family. The coaches he had throughout his young time were his father, his uncle, Va’inga , Manoa, and Hu’ufifale (himself was a star player during his early years in Tonga before moving in Hawaii). Manoa was a player for San Francisco Golden Gate RFC between 2003 and 2011. He was instrumental in helping SFGG take home their first U.S. Rugby Super League in 2009 and 2011, crossing four times during the process. In his final match for Golden Gate, Golden Gate, Manoa again displayed his wits on the tryline, opening up the scoring while his team took home the trophy for the third time. San Francisco Golden Gate were the national runners-up in 2010.
Manoa played in six matches for the U.S. Select XV and USA A teams between 2009 and the end of 2010, and was also a part of his first Americas Rugby Championship. He was selected for selection to the U.S. national team for the 2010 season’s final tests. He was able to make the US international debut by playing with Georgia in November 2010 and also played in games with Scotland A as well as Saracens. The contract he signed with Northampton resulted in him not participate for the US during 2011, the Rugby World Cup.
