Roddy Grant is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on January 31, 1987 in Botswana. Roddy is a rugby fan: his great-uncle George and grandfather Bob were both international referees. The latter was also from Scotland in 1950 and 1951, and was manager of the 1977 Lions in New Zealand. Grant’s father was a player for British Universities.
Grant also played for Scotland A in two IRB Nations Cup wins in Bucharest, June 2009. His debut was in the win against Russia as a replacement, and his first appearance came four days later against Uruguay. He signed a professional contract in Edinburgh that same month, and his Scotland A career continued in November 2009 with a replacement appearance against Tonga at Netherdale in Galashiels. Grant was then nominated as the Young Player of Season in the Celtic League season 2009-10. Grant was part of the senior Scotland squad at the 2010 Six Nations Championship.
In March 2015, Grant signed a new contract with Edinburgh, which will see him remaining at Murrayfield until 2016. In August 2015, he scored a hat-trick of tries against Romania’s Rugby World Cup side. Edinburgh won the match 31–16. In December 2015 he was forced to retire following an injury. He joined the Scottish Rugby Academy and in May 2017 was promoted to Edinburgh forwards’ coach.
Grant started as open-side flanker in all five of Scotland’s matches in the 2006 Under 19 Rugby World Championship in Dubai in April 2006. Later that year he made his international sevens debut for Scotland in the Dubai tournament which opened the IRB’s 2006–07 series. He played in six of the tournaments in that series. That season, too, he had his Scotland Under-20 debut in the February 2007 match against England in Bath, and he continued in that team for the game against France in Bourg-en-Bresse.
Roderick Robert Grant, a former player in rugby union with Scotland and Edinburgh sevens, is a coach. Grant was the captain of Edinburgh during the 2008-09 IRB Sevens World Series. He replaced Scott Forrest who was injured.

In summer 2006, he joined Border Reivers as an apprentice. The following January, he made his professional debut as a substitute in the Magners League game against Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade. He received the 2008 John Macphail Scholarship which allowed him to spend a summer in New Zealand playing for Auckland University.
He was the Scottish Thistles joint-top scorer in November 2008 with 45 points (nine attempts) in the Singapore international 7s. He then played in the Scotland squad at the 2008-09 IRB tournaments. These were held in Wellington (New Zealand), San Diego, Hong Kong, Adelaide and Twickenham, as well as in the RWC Sevens (Dubai), where he scored four tries to help Scotland win the Plate competition. He scored 23 tries in the 2008-09 sevens seasons. His points total of 115 was second to Colin Gregor’s 171.
On 26 December 2013, Grant made his 100th appearance for Edinburgh, leading the team out onto the Murrayfield pitch for the Boxing Day Pro12 derby clash with Glasgow Warriors.
