Lang has played for the Phoenix Coyotes and the Phoenix Bruins as well as the Washington Capitals (Pittsburgh Penguins), Washington Capitals (Pittsburgh Capitals), Detroit Red Wings (Detroit Red Wings), Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago Canadiens), Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings (Detroit Red Wings), Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL. He retired in 2010 with the Phoenix Coyotes.
Lang played 16 games for HC Litvinov (now the Czech Extraliga), scoring 23 points due to the 1994-95 lockout. Lang was offered a spot on the Kings’ full- time roster when NHL play resumed. After scoring 22 points in 68 games, he returned to Czech Extraliga to play with Sparta Praha.
The following year, Lang competed in the 1997 World Championships, defeating Russia in the bronze medal game. Lang scored two points in eight games.
After a brief hiatus from the NHL, Lang returned after one season in Europe, joining the Pittsburgh Penguins as a free agent on September 2, 1997. He was subsequently bounced back and forth between the Penguins and Boston Bruins for a couple of months before he stuck with the Penguins.
Lang played two more seasons in the Extraliga, before he made his debut with the Kings in 1992-1993. Lang spent the majority of his IHL season with the Kings’ minor league affiliate the Phoenix Roadrunners.

Lang, a Czechoslovakian native, began his career in the Czechoslovak Extraliga at age eighteen with HC Litvinov. In 1989-90, Lang scored 15 points in 32 games with HC Litvinov. He was then drafted 133rd by the Los Angeles Kings in 1990 NHL Entry Draft.
Lang made his international debut with Czechoslovakia at the 1992 Winter Olympics. Lang was third in tournament scoring with 13 points. Czechoslovakia beat the United States in bronze medal games. Lang also competed in 1992 World Championships for Czechoslovakia, which was held in his country. Lang won his second bronze medal for Czechoslovakia with four points in eight games.
In 1996, Lang competed with the recently-independent Czech Republic in his second World Championships and won the country’s first gold medal at the tournament (Czechoslovakia had won six times previously). Lang scored nine points in eight games. Later that year, Lang competed in the inaugural World Cup (replacing the Canada Cup), however the Czechs lost all three round-robin games and did not advance to the medal rounds. Lang failed to register a point.
