In 1989, he graduated with an BSc in Architecture. He then relocated to Toronto to work as an architect at Adamson Associates. He was a part of the concept for One Canada Square, which was at the time the tallest structure anywhere in the UK. He also helped with the design of the shopping centre next of the building.
The year 1996 was the time Stonor launched an architecture firm on his own, Morrison Brink Stonor with coworkers Bartlett alumni Robert Morrison and Barbara Brink.
Stonor lives with his family in Faversham, Kent where he has restored a 17th- century town house. In 2018 the house was extended and adapted with a design by Morrison Brink Stonor.
Stonor returned to his studies in 1993. He enrolled at Oxford Brookes University, where the student graduated with distinction and an Honors Master’s Diploma in Architectural Design. In 1995, he became an architect.

Stonor returned to his former position in the Unit for Architectural Studies at The Bartlett in the Bartlett, where he founded his own Space Syntax Laboratory as the consultant part for the research team. He revived a company, Space Syntax Limited, that was founded in 1989. The company grew to become a human-centric and science-based design company.
Stonor came back to London in 1990 to complete master’s degrees in space syntax under the guidance of Prof. Bill Hillier and Prof Julienne Hanson. He was awarded with distinction his MSc of Architecture. After graduation, he joined The Bartlett’s Unit for Architectural Studies (the research group on space syntax located at The Bartlett) as a Research Associate. He was involved in projects like The King’s Cross International Terminal and the Manchester bid for the 2000 Olympic Games.
In 2010 he won a Loeb Fellowship at Harvard University, where he was also awarded a Lincoln Loeb Fellowship by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.
