Rob Pyne is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 23, 1967 in Gordonvale, Australia. From 1961 to 2000, his father Tom Pyne was an Australian politician. Mulgrave Shire Council was his first election in 1961. He served as vice-chairman in 1976 and chairman in 1979, 1982 and 1983. In 1988, 1991, he was elected mayor of Cairns City Council. He passed away in October 2011.

He announced in September 2013 that he would be contesting the Australian Labor Party preselection for 2015 state election in Cairns. In April 2014, he was nominated to be the Labor candidate. He defeated Gavin King, a sitting Liberal National Party MP, to win the January 2015 election.

On 5 May 2016, Pyne submitted a private members bill to the Queensland Parliament to decriminalise abortion in Queensland. In February 2017, he withdrew the bill after it became apparent it would not get sufficient support in its present form in Parliament. The issue of abortion was referred to the Queensland Law Reform Commission to consider a new framework for legislation in relation to the termination of pregnancy. On 19 June 2017, the Queensland Attorney-General Yvettte D’Ath officially issued the Queensland Law Reform Commission with the terms of reference for a review and investigation into modernising Queensland’s laws in relation to the termination of pregnancy.

In January 2016, Pyne resigned from the Labor Party’s left faction. On 7 March 2016, after being publicly critical of a number of government decisions, Pyne resigned from the Labor Party, saying that he was “no longer prepared to be told how to vote by someone from Brisbane”. He moved to the crossbench to sit as an independent member. However, he stated he would continue to back Labor on confidence and supply matters.

Rob obtained his degrees and worked for the Public Trustee of Queensland before becoming a lawyer. He also served as the Regional Disability Liaison Officer at James Cook University Cairns. He ran for the Cairns Regional Council Division 3 seat in 2008. He defeated Terry James, the former Deputy Mayor. He also inspected the Cairns Regional Council headquarters before he took up his position to make it wheelchair-accessible. In 2012, he was re- elected. He was re-elected in 2012. He was charged with violating the media policy rules of Cairns Regional Council in March 2014.

Robert John Pyne, born 23 April 1967, is an Australian politician. From January 2015 to November 2017, he was a member of Queensland’s Legislative Assembly. He represented the electorate of Cairns. Pyne was originally elected to the Australian Labor Party but resigned in March 2016 to become an independent. He lost his seat to a Labor candidate during the 2017 election. Pyne was previously a Cairns Regional Council councillor. Pyne is Australia’s first quadriplegic parliament member.

Pyne was the son of former Cairns mayor Tom Pyne and was raised in Edmonton. In December 1991, he suffered a spinal injury after sustaining a neck injury from a diving accident. He was 23 years old. This left him quadriplegic. After nine months of recovery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Spinal Unit, Brisbane, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours and in History and Politics from James Cook University and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2002 from Queensland University of Technology. He was the President of James Cook University Student Association in 1997.

In March 2015, Queensland’s Parliament building underwent renovations to accommodate its first quadriplegic member of parliament, including removing two seats and desks in the chamber to allow Pyne wheelchair access.
