Sergey Nikolayevich Baburin (Russian: Sergei Nikolaevich Baburin , born 31 January 1959) is a Russian nationalist politician and a member of the State Duma of the first convocation, second and fourth which he was a member of the Committee on Civil, Criminal, Arbitral and Procedural Law and was the chairman of the Russian All-People’s Union and an ex-leader of the Rodina political party. He also served as the Rector at the Russian State University of Trade and Economics (RGTEU) from 2002 until 2012.

On January 30, 2018, Sergey Baburin handed over the signatures to the CEC. The tests revealed only 3.28 percent of signatures that were invalid that is why Sergey Baburin was admitted to the electoral process.

On the 22nd of December, 2017, the Russian All-People’s Union nominated Sergey Baburin as its presidential candidate for the 2018 Russian presidential election. On the 24th of December Baburin registered his candidacy with the CEC. The CEC did not approve Baburin’s request on December 25, as it discovered a lack of details provided about the party’s 18 representatives. Baburin submitted the documents again and they were subsequently approved in the CEC.
