Ray Barkwill is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on August 26, 1980 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Raymond Barkwill, a former Canadian rugby union player, was born 26 August 1980. He played for several teams before ending his career with the Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby. There he helped win the inaugural title and scored a try. Ray was also a member of Canada’s national rugby union team. He was also the first Canadian to participate in Super Rugby.

Barkwill was chosen for Canada’s 2015 Rugby World Cup team, which took place in England. He was a starter in the games against Ireland and Italy, while he was on the bench for France. His big beard and teammate Hubert Buydens make him well-known.

Barkwill was selected for the Force “A”, side in January. He also continued to play for Perth Spirit side. Barkwill joined the Ontario Blues in March on their South American tour, where they faced the Salta-based Argentinean provincial team and the national teams of Chile and Uruguay. The Argentinean crowd gave him the nickname “La Flama Blanca” during this tour. Barkwill was informed by the Argentinean crowd about his possibility of joining the Ontario Blues team in Canada for the 2012 Canadian Rugby Championship. In September, the Ontario Blues won their second consecutive CRC title. Barkwill was selected to represent Canada A at the Americas Rugby Championship in Langford (British Columbia). Barkwill was selected to represent Canada on the autumn tour to the UK. He will be playing against Samoa, Russia and New Zealand Maori after the ARC ended in October. He made his debut for Canada on November 9, 2012 in Colwyn Bay in Wales vs Samoa, where they lost 42-12.

Barkwill was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He began rugby at Westlane Secondary School and Niagara Wasp RFC. It was there that he learned the “Tooq Bomb” from his teammates. He went on to play rugby for the Niagara Thunder and was educated at Brock University, St. Catharines. He was named OUA Finals MVP and captained Brock University’s first OUA Rugby Championship team in 2007. Barkwill received a BSc from Brock University. Barkwill graduated from Brock University with a BSc in Physical Geography. He continued his post-graduate studies at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. In June, he joined the University of Western Australia’s Rugby Club and was selected to the Western Australians Perth Spirit in September for their tour of Adelaide, South Australia.

Barkwill played the remainder of the season with UWA, winning the Grand Finals in the PINDAN Premier grade against Nedland. He was also voted the fairest and best player at the tournament. Barkwill was again invited to the Western Australian State team (Perth Spirit) shortly after the finals. Barkwill was invited to train with Western Force “A”, a Super 15 team, in late 2011. He was then noticed by Kieran Crowley, Canada’s national coach.

In March 2016 Barkwill announced that he had signed with Sacramento Express of PRO Rugby in its inaugural season.
